Family Photos on Hilton Head

Family photos do not have to be a chore! I am so incredibly blessed to have been able to photograph the Down’s family – from their wedding, to their two beautiful children and now their family vacation photos on Hilton Head.  Actually, my photographer, David, took the photos for me and he really captured the beautiful sky and their personalities!  Amy and her family are the most down-to-Earth and genuine people I know.  She is always so uplifting and kind, and what a great mom! I love seeing her posts where she comes up with the most creative ideas for her two angels – from super hero costumes to cooking and just spending quality time with them. Tarek is such a great dad, – he is so patient with us, while we work with the kids to get the best photos.  The love her has for his kids and wife is beyond words~!  David got to meet the other half of this amazing family and was telling me how easy going Amy’s sister is, while the wind blew her hair everywhere, she was just enjoying being in the moment.  I pray that everyone experiences  family life like this one – even with the ups and “Downs” – they don’t let the little things bother them.

Hilton Head Island makes a beautiful backdrop for family photos! If you are finding that family photos are a chore or not something you are looking forward to, here are a few helpful hints:

1. Do a 30 min photo session or an hour – but no more! Anyone can do anything for about 30 mins or so.
2. The time of day is crucial for great photos on Hilton Head – too hot and you are miserable – even if its on the beach – too early and people are cranky – know your family and talk to your photographer!
3. Have fun! Yes, get those traditional family photos but when the kids are allowed to run and play – and maybe act goofy in a few shots, that is their personality coming out and its the stuff you’ll miss later when they get older.
