Family Photos on Hilton Head

Family photos do not have to be a chore! I am so incredibly blessed to have been able to photograph the Down’s family – from their wedding, to their two beautiful children and now their family vacation photos on Hilton Head. Actually, my photographer, David, took the photos for me and he really captured the beautiful sky and their personalities! Amy and her family are the most down-to-Earth and genuine people I know. She is always so uplifting and kind, and what a great mom! I love seeing her posts where she comes up with the most creative ideas for her two angels – from super hero costumes to cooking and just spending quality time with them. Tarek is such a great dad, – he is so patient with us, while we work with the kids to get the best photos. The love her has for his kids and wife is beyond words~! David got to meet the other half of this amazing family and was telling me how easy going Amy’s sister is, while the wind blew her hair everywhere, she was just enjoying being in the moment. I pray that everyone experiences family life like this one – even with the ups and “Downs” – they don’t let the little things bother them.

Hilton Head Island makes a beautiful backdrop for family photos! If you are finding that family photos are a chore or not something you are looking forward to, here are a few helpful hints:

Do a 30 min photo session or an hour – but no more! Anyone can do anything for about 30 mins or so.
The time of day is crucial for great photos on Hilton Head – too hot and you are miserable – even if its on the beach – too early and people are cranky – know your family and talk to your photographer!
Have fun! Yes, get those traditional family photos but when the kids are allowed to run and play – and maybe act goofy in a few shots, that is their personality coming out and its the stuff you’ll miss later when they get older.

David took our garden wedding pictures at The Gastonian! We actually had a pop-up thunderstorm during the ceremony. The rain didn't ruin our wedding or the pictures, in fact, David captured the beauty of the occasion & the rain. He was fun & creative. Our pictures are outstanding. Our photographer bailed on us the last minute. I contacted DreamWeaver the day of and it was a total blessing in disguise. They put me in touch with David and he was amazing. Not only did he capture what my daughter was looking for in senior pictures he gave us great location suggestions. While going through town, he even gave us local history on Savannah. Believe me I’ll be coming back and asking for David!

Jamie took our wedding pictures and to say she was amazing would be selling her short. Our wedding day was raining and nasty, but we were determined to get some photos outside. Jamie responded with "WE GOT THIS!!". She ducked the rain with us and got the most wonderful rainy photos. She captured the magic in every single shot. And, just when we thought she didn't catch a memory, as we scrolled through the many pictures she sent us, we found every one of them. Nothing was left behind. Jamie is the best! Not only is she an amazing photographer she is an amazing person! My daughter had a wasp somehow crawl up her pants leg in the middle of a shoot and Jamie quickly went to her aid! Jamie lifted her slacks up and out flew the wasp leaving 4 bites! Jamie went to her car and brought back hand sanitizer and put on the bites to ease the sting.
